Guardian also signs Mets pitcher Sean Manaea as the official ambassador for the program

NEW YORK, Aug. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America® (Guardian) announced today the expansion of its "Everyday Champions" initiative with the New York Mets. The Everyday Champions award celebrates those who go above and beyond to enhance the lives of their teammates and communities. Mets pitcher Sean Manaea will serve as Guardian's official Everyday Champion ambassador. The program, introduced last season, will expand to honor four Everyday Champions this year, with the honorees being recognized by Manaea and the Mets at upcoming home games throughout the remainder of the 2025 season.

"As a Met, I'm proud of the focus this organization puts on making a positive impact in the community," said Manaea. "Our partnership with Guardian allows us to extend that mission, thanks to our shared values and commitment to fostering strong community relationships. I'm excited to be back on the mound this season, in front of the fans, and to have the opportunity to celebrate these incredible Everyday Champions at the park."

The 2025 Guardian Everyday Champions honorees who will be recognized at games include:

  • August 5: Francis Mendoza, wife of the Mets manager, Carlos Mendoza, will be honored during the game against the Cleveland Guardians.

  • August 14*: Sean Manaea will be celebrated during the game against the Atlanta Braves.

  • August 25: Antoan Richardson, first base coach for the Mets, will be honored during the game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

This expanded program comes on the heels of Guardian and the Mets extending their partnership through a new multi-year deal at the start of the 2025 season. Guardian and the Mets first inked their partnership in 2024 with the aim of fostering brand engagement and building connections in the park, online, and in the community.

"Guardian is committed to making a difference in people's lives by being there in the moments that matter and inspiring well-being across the communities we serve. We look for the same aspirations in our choice of partners," said Wendy Wahl, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Guardian. "We are proud to continue this partnership with the Mets and look forward to celebrating Everyday Champions who go above and beyond to enhance the lives of their teammates and communities."

"We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Guardian and expand upon the Everyday Champions program," said Mets Senior Vice President of Partnerships Brenden Mallette. "We've always celebrated the importance of going above and beyond to serve our community, fans, and partners and are excited to see the program continue to honor those unsung heroes."
