HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 5, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Contrell Armor, director of Pennsylvania Statewide Afterschool/Youth Development Network, has been accepted as a 2025 Fellow for the White-Riley-Peterson's Afterschool Policy Fellowship (WRP). The fellowship equips participants with a real-world understanding of the art, science, possibilities and realities of policymaking around afterschool and expanded learning. Armor joins a national class of 17 leaders in afterschool programming for this opportunity.
"I am honored to represent Pennsylvania as a White-Riley-Peterson Fellow," stated Armor. "With the introduction of the BOOST program in 2024-2025, Pennsylvania is recognized as an emerging leader in the development of and access to high quality afterschool programming. By participating in this fellowship, I can increase PSAYDN's and Pennsylvania's capacity to advocate for high quality programs, develop policies that work best for families, schools and communities, and collaborate with policymakers and advocates from across the county. This is an opportunity to learn from and work with the best in the field."
As part of the experience, fellows develop and implement afterschool-related policy projects in their home states that support expanded learning opportunities for children across the country.
