Celebrated Entrepreneur and CEO of VIVO360, Inc. Recognized for Transformative Impact in Business, Community, and Culture
ATLANTA, Aug. 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Sophie L. Gibson, visionary entrepreneur, author, and CEO of VIVO360, Inc., has been honored with the prestigious Trailblazer Award by the Atlanta Jamaican Association (AJA) at its Annual Independence Ball & Scholarship Awards, held at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. The award recognizes Gibson's groundbreaking achievements as a leader in marketing, digital innovation, and community advocacy.
The event, attended by dignitaries including David Cutting, the Barbados Honorary Consulate in Atlanta, celebrated Gibson's remarkable career and lifelong commitment to telling purpose-driven stories that inspire change.
Gibson, a proud Jamaican born in Kingston, made history in 2001 as the first woman—and the first woman of color—to launch a digital marketing agency in the United States. Through VIVO360, Inc. (VIVO), she has led iconic campaigns for global brands and influential institutions, including the NAACP Image Awards, Delta Air Lines, The National Football League (NFL), Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Morehouse School of Medicine, The Links, Incorporated, and the City of Atlanta.
Her agency is among the elite 0.3% of advertising firms owned by Black women in the U.S.
"It feels especially meaningful when you are recognized by your own community," Gibson said during her acceptance speech. "This award celebrates our shared heritage, resilience, and creativity. It's a call to keep telling our stories—boldly, authentically, and globally—so the next generation knows they, too, can dream big, break barriers, and change the world."
The Trailblazer Award adds to Gibson's long list of honors, which include the AMY Award, Communicator Gold Awards of Excellence, Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards, and recognition from the American Marketing Association. Beyond her professional achievements, Gibson serves on the boards of Saint Augustine's University and the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, and she is a passionate advocate for women and children having the opportunity to achieve their highest human potential.
This October, Gibson will release her memoir, Sopossible, a deeply personal account of her journey from Kingston to CEO, chronicling how she transformed challenges into triumphs and built a legacy of purpose-driven success. The book will be available at sophielgibson.com.
